Attention Mixed Harmony Ensembles

Thinking of entering a Harmony, Inc. Area Contest this year?  Here’s what you need to know, and where to find it:

  1. The schedule for the Area Contests can be found on Harmony's website www.harmonyinc.org under the “Events” tab. Each Area lists the dates of the convention, contest entry deadline and the late entry deadline. For Area 2-specific information please contact Area 2 ACJC Linda Bober at acjc@area2harmony.org.

  2. Your ensemble and all of its members must be registered with the Mixed Barbershop Harmony Association (MBHA) and all dues paid up to date to that organization before registering for an Area Contest. If you, or your ensemble, are not currently members of MBHA please go to their website www.mixedbarbershop.org and check out their registration requirements and procedure.

  3. To enter an Area Contest you must submit an Official Area Cont Information Form. Complete and submit the appropriate form by clicking on one of the following links:

    Contest Entry forms must be submitted no later than February 23, 2026, in order to be a part of the initial draw for the Order of Appearance for either the Quartet or Chorus Contest. If you miss this date, a late fee will be assessed, and you will sing first in the applicable contest. In order to compete, your late entry must be submitted no later than March 25, 2026.

  4. Enter your ensemble details in the Contest Entry System. You will receive an email reminder to complete this step approximately five days after submitting HAR-061 (Quartet) or HAR-063 (Chorus). Contact info@harmonyinc.org if you do not receive this email within one week of paying your contest entry fees.

    Please note that entry into the Contest Entry System has been delayed due to system issues. As long as you have completed HAR-061/HAR-063 and made your payment by the contest entry deadline you have been entered into the contest. We apologize for this inconvenience.

    If, after you receive the email reminder, you have issues completing the Contest Entry DO NOT CONTACT the BHS Member Center. Instead, complete a support ticket request. You will be contacted by Administrative Judge Category Specialist, Linda Muise to resolve any issues. Please note that your issue may not be resolved immediately. Tickets will be addressed in order of contest dates. Area 6 issues will be addressed first, Area 2 issues second, Area 3 issues third, etc. Please be patient.

  5. You must also submit your song selections for any songs you intend to perform in the contest thirty (30) days prior to the contest (March 25, 2026 Quartets/March 26, 2026 Choruses) using the Contestant Song Registration Form, HAR-082, which can be accessed at www.harmonyinc.org/song-registration-form/.

  6. In addition to the non-refundable entry fee, all contestants must purchase a Performing Member All-Events Pass for the Area Convention and Contests, and book a minimum of one night in the convention hotel.
